On behalf of Burkinabe President Faso Roch Kabore, Burkinabe Ambassador to the U.S. Seydou Kabore presented Ambassador Andrew Young, U.S. Africa Command deputy commander for civil-military engagement, the Knight of the Order of the Stallion for Young's service as U.S. Ambassador to Burkina Faso from 2016-20.

General Marc, commander of Barkhane Force, held a medal ceremony on Feb. 8 at the N’Djamena military base. As part of a U.S. delegation visit to Chad, the general awarded the Overseas Service Medal to four U.S. Soldiers for their participation in the operation conducted in the Sahelo Saharian area.

Kevin Jones met with Sahel region leaders, partner military leaders and forces, and U.S. troops during a multi-day trip to Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, Feb. 8-12. During the trip, Tyler and Jones met with African and French partners and U.S. leadership in all four countries to reaffirm the command’s ongoing mission, personnel support, and commitment in the region.
