Office of the Command Chaplain

Mission

The Command Chaplain reports directly to the U.S. Africa Command commander for three major purposes: providing advice and awareness on matters related to religion, ethics and morale; coordinating sustained chaplain engagements in support of a stable and secure African environment; and ensuring spiritual care is provided for U.S. Africa Command personnel, families and operations.

Vision

To increase spiritual strength, thereby enhancing the stability and security on the continent of Africa and its island nations by fostering trusted relationships with African military chaplains, religious leaders, interagency and international partners, and non-governmental organizations.

U.S. Africa Command Hosts the 2023 Strategic Religious Affairs Conference

U.S. Africa Command held its annual strategic religious affairs conference at Kelley Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany, from Aug. 15-17, 2023. Chaplains and their Senior Enlisted Religious Affairs Advisors joined from U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) Service Component Commands, U.S. National Guards State Partnership Program, Department of State, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and U.S. European Command.

U.S Africa Command held its religious affair conference at Kelley Barracks, near Stuttgart, Germany, from Sept. 20-22, 2021; including participation from command components, U.S. National Guards, and European Command, with some joining in virtually.
