Welcome to the homepage of U.S. Africa Command Joint Reserve Affairs Office, which provides current information for Joint Reserve Component service members coming to U.S. Africa Command. Reserve component service members are valued members of the U.S. Africa Command team, helping the forward-located combatant command carry out its mission in Africa.
Mission
The Joint Reserve Personnel Affairs Office manages U.S. Africa Command’s operational and strategic joint reserve component forces, ensuring members are trained, ready, and integrated to meet mission requirements. The office also:
- manages Individual Mobilization Augmentees to fill IMA billets identified on the Joint Table of Mobilization and Distribution to provide operational support requirements and manpower
- manages service allocated funding for reserve component augmentation to provide short-term operational requirements (up to one fiscal year) and missions lasting 30 to 365 days beyond routine duty
- maintains U.S. Africa Command's reserve component policy and is the primary advisor on all joint reserve component issues
