Kentucky Guard strengthens partnership with Djibouti

As part of the State Partnership Program, Kentucky National Guard Chaplain Col. Yong Cho, and Senior State Support Chaplain Lt. Col. Bill Draper visit Djibouti during Ramadan in May 2018. Through the visit, the chaplains intended to learn how connecting with the people of Djibouti via humanitarian efforts could bolster state partnership efforts.

In coordination with the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), U.S. forces conducted a precision airstrike near Bani Walid, Libya, on June 6, killing four (4) ISIS-Libya militants, as previously released.

U.S. government delivers C-130 aircraft to Ethiopia

U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Michael Raynor hands a transfer certificate to Ethiopian Air Force Head, Gen. Adem Mohammed, on June 7, 2018, during a ceremony to commemorate the U.S. delivery of a C-130E Hercules transport aircraft to the Ethiopian Air Force. The purpose of the aircraft is to enhance Ethiopia’s capacity to move humanitarian supplies where they are needed in a timely manner during regional peacekeeping missions.
