Sierra Leone Officially Joins State Partnership Program with Michigan National Guard

As part of the ongoing security cooperation between the United States and Sierra Leone, the Michigan National Guard (MING) and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) formally established a State Partnership Program (SPP) in a signing ceremony in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Bomber Task Force mission to West Africa exercises counter-illicit maritime capabilities

Two U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress aircraft assigned to the 69th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, Royal Air Force Fairford, flew a Bomber Task Force mission to southeastern Mauritania and along the west coast of Africa, where aircrew and U.S. Coast Guard members aboard the aircraft exercised their ability to conduct counter-illicit maritime tracking efforts, Feb. 28, 2022.

U.S. service members assigned to U.S. Africa Command's North and West Africa Response Force (NARF) conducted a cross-continent strategic engagement in Niger, August 7-9.

U.S. Naval Forces-Africa continues exercises to test movement of troops across Africa

This movement continues U.S. Africa Command's series of exercises in West Africa this spring. The first two exercises were completed by troops stationed at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, and tested the command's ability to move troops quickly across the continent from east to west in support of partners throughout the region.
