During the visit Townsend recognized Djibouti’s successful COVID-19 response and congratulated President Guelleh for his nation’s feat in containing the pandemic spread.

Medical logistics team distributes PPE in fight against COVID-19

CJTF-HOA's medical logistics team is distributing personal protective equipment to multiple outstations in East Africa as part of the fight against COVID-19.
In the Horn of Africa, CJTF-HOA is the U.S. Africa Command organization that conducts operations in the region to enhance partner nation capacity, promote regional security and stability, dissuade conflict, and protect U.S. and coalition interests.
