Books line the shelves in a new Library at the Balbala 7 School built and furnished by coalition partners from the U.S. Military, U.S. State Department, Japanese, Italian, and Spanish militaries at Balabala, Djibouti, Oct. 4 2022. With support from Royal Danish Defense forces, the joint and combined team will also make critical construction builds or repairs to a mobile camp facility at the Ghana Navy Training command (NAVTRAC) in preparation for the NAVAF-led exercise Obangame Express 2023 and the U.S. Special Operations Command Africa-led exercise Flintlock.

Special Operations Command Africa JCETs enhance U.S. relationships with partner nations by developing and maintaining critical military-to-military connections and improving joint and allied readiness and interoperability.

Kirk Smith, deputy commander, U.S. Africa Command addresses the Tunisian delegation as part of the 35th U.S.-Tunisia Joint Military Commission held Sept. 27-28, 2022, at U.S. Africa Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. Participants from the Department of Defense, the Department of State, and the Tunisian Ministry of Defense discussed security cooperation, institutional capacity building, and Tunisia's role as a regional security leader.

The U.S. and Tunisia agreed to continue to work closely together to strengthen their bilateral strategic partnership and achieve mutual strategic interests in accordance with goals of the U.S-Tunisian Roadmap for Defense Cooperation.
