Kirk Smith from U.S. Africa Command visited Mauritania to discuss the potential for greater partnership and engagement during a visit to the nation’s capital, Nouakchott, July 13-15, where they met with President Ghazouani. The delegation also met with the Mauritanian Minister of Defense, Chief of Defense, military service chiefs, and students at both the G5 Sahel Defense College and Mauritanian Air Force air traffic control training center.
