The North Carolina National Guard Assistant Adjutant General of Sustainment, Brig. Gen. Cristina Moore, tours the Botswana Defence Force Wildlife Training Center while attending the 6th iteration of the African Military Law Forum at the Grand Palm Convention Center in Gaborone, Botswana, Aug. 6-10. The park was established in 1989 in response to the proliferation of poaching in the Chobe and Nhabe regions, which are the wildlife hub of the country. The tour provided greater insight into the BDF mission and builds upon the bilateral partnership between the NCNG and Botswana.

The USS Hershel “Woody” Williams, the first U.S. Navy vessel to be assigned to the United States Africa Command area of responsibility, last visited Walvis Bay from Sept. 16-18, 2021, when the crew conducted exchanges and participated in joint training with the Namibian Navy.
