AFRICOM commander visits Kenya, Somalia, to emphasize partnership, security

U.S. Army Gen. Stephen J. Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command, addresses force U.S. military service members at Camp Simba, Kenya, Feb. 12, 2020. Townsend’s command visit was to personally assess the security situation at the Kenyan Defense Force installation at Manda Bay, Kenya and to thank the U.S. military personnel for their service and highlighted the value of their work alongside our Kenyan partners.
