AFRICOM commander visits Kenya, Somalia, to emphasize partnership, security

U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command, addresses personnel from the Puntland Security Force Feb. 13, 2020 in Bosasso, Somalia. Townsend was in Somalia to meet with Somali leaders, including Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, to discuss regional efforts and the importance of their continued pursuit of al-Shabaab. Discussions centered on security and fostered continued commitment to enhancing mutual goals of regional stability, security, and economic prosperity
