First Phase of AMLEP Closes

170308-N-N0901-003 AFRICA (March 8, 2017) Members of the Togo’s maritime forces, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Coast Guard conduct a combined maritime law enforcement operation in support of African Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership. The operation’s objectives were to enhance the maritime enforcement capabilities of African partner nations while increasing interoperability between the two maritime forces. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
