STUTTGART, Germany – U.S. Africa Command hosted an annual Command Surgeon Synchronization Conference, May 22-24, 2018, at the Kelly Special Events Center. Led by the AFRICOM Command surgeon’s office the purpose was to bring medical professionals from across the command, and interagency and foreign partners, to discuss challenges and concerns within the medical enterprise in Africa.

Federal Government of Somalia engages ISIS-Somalia with support from U.S. Forces
At the request of the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command conducted a collective self-defense airstrike against ISIS-Somalia on April 18, 2025.
In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command conducted airstrikes against advanced conventional weapons aboard a flagless vessel and a smaller supporting vessel inside Somalia territorial waters on April 16, 2025.
