The annual SCSC (Stuttgart Community Spouses Club) Spring Bazaar is a popular community-wide event that takes place on Friday, March 18, from 1000-2000, Saturday, March 19th from 1000-1900, and Sunday, March 20th from 1000-1600 on Patch Barracks.

Over 70 vendors from across Europe bring a variety of items to sell: Oriental carpets; jewelry and accessories; Italian ceramics; Polish pottery; Dutch cheese; French, German and Italian furniture; French, German, and Italian wines; Belgian and German beers; Whiskey; cigars; English antiques; painted furniture; Waterford crystal; Italian leather goods; art; tapestries; and much more. For those who want to make the Bazaar a day out, the Busnauer Hof will be selling schnitzels and pommes and other German cuisine, and our local Private Organizations will be providing face painting for the children, as well as selling catfish, burgers, hotdogs, popcorn, and assorted baked goods.

Why all the fuss? Last year the SCSC gave back $200,000 to the local Stuttgart Military Community in the form of college scholarships for High School Seniors, students in continuing education, and spouses undertaking a college degree. Donations were also given to a variety of worthy causes, such as Youth Sports activities, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, softball teams, the Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, the Fisher House at Landstuhl, the Wounded Warrior unit, the USO, Red Cross, and to offset the costs of junior enlisted tickets to our local military balls.

Volunteers are still needed to support this worthwhile and fun community event, so if you're interested and you have time to volunteer for a worthy cause (and have fun while you're at it), please Visit www.stuttgartspousesclub.org and click on 'Volunteer Spot' link. After you have confirmed your email address, the 'Volunteer Spot' link will show you specific jobs and time slots available.

Sign up directly online or contact Natalie at: scscbazaarvolunteer@yahoo.com For all those who volunteer, you will be rewarded by being able to preview and buy at "early bird shopping" on Thursday evening, starting at 1700.

Please come out and support the SCSC Spring Bazaar -- you'll be amazed at what you'll find -- and you'll also experience the wonderful camaraderie of our Stuttgart Military Community.
