A message from the AFRICOM Chief of Staff

About 6 weeks ago we asked the Garrison and AAFES to come up with a way to provide meals for our folks in the Kelley Hotel and other temporary lodging while we awaited the new contract for the Kelley Club to take effect.

As it turns out, the Pizza Hut and Subway were opened for business last weekend. I just learned of that change by AAFES a few moments ago, and suspect I was not the only person who did not know about their efforts on our behalf.

Please ensure all your folks understand we have asked for this to provide a food service over the weekend, especially for those who have not gotten their vehicle delivered and are limited to the post for food services. AAFES is making an effort to assist us, we should support to the extent possible.

This will end on 1 Oct when the Kelley Club opens for full food service. We have seen a lot of changes to the Club here, and as you all know I think having a vibrant club for our folks to unwind, have events, and take their families is important. I encourage you all to come out and support the command and the Club on 1 Oct.

See you there!
