Throughout the last two months seniors from around the world achieved their 12-year goal of graduating high school. Experiencing lasting friendships, first dates, exams and sports competitions, young men and women have struggled through and overcome adversity; they have learned to set and meet goals and have persevered the rigors of being teenagers. Now they have received the reward for all their hard work as they proudly accept their diplomas in front of their closest family members and friends.

From the entire U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) team, congratulations graduates! You stood up to the challenges and overcame them; you are now prepared to enter the world as educated members of society. We encourage graduates to continue setting new goals to improve themselves and the world around them.

Brian Williams, graduated Patch High School with varsity letters in football, wrestling and band. He will be attending the University of Maryland in the fall.

Grant Petersen, graduated Patch High School as the Class of 2010 Valedictorian. He is going to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Stephanie Gema Sullivan, will be attending Saint Louis University- Madrid Campus, Spain

Lucas Bispo will remain in Germany with his family and study with the Univ. of Maryland University College. He is considering UNC Chapel Hill after which he will be an officer in the Marine Corps.
