Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) civil affairs team joined the U.S. Mission to donate several books to Mawaal and Al Noor African Muslim Society, Madrasa in Tanga region, Tanzania in early November, 2008.
According to a statement from the U.S. Embassy, the book donation was made on behalf of the American people through a U.S. non-governmental organization, Brother's Brother and U.S. publisher Houghton Mifflin. The books came from a larger consignment of nearly 100,000 books that are being donated throughout Tanzania.
This was the second book donation made to Tanga schools. The first donation of books was made to Kirare Primary School, which was recently refurbished by members of CJTF-HOA.
