U.S. Africa Command team visits RAF Molesworth's Joint Intelligence Command

Gen. Michael Langley, commander, U.S. Africa Command, and Sgt. Maj. Richard Thresher, command senior enlisted advisor, visited Royal Air Force Station Molesworth, U.K., on Dec. 6, 2022.

Langley and Thresher toured the base - home to U.S. Africa Command's Joint Intelligence Command and 40 percent of the command's analytical workforce - before receiving an operations update and meeting with the personnel assigned there.

"Supporting our partners in Africa requires, for one, timely and accurate information that sets the condition for effective security cooperation," said Langley. "The work of these quiet professionals is essential to accomplishing that task and ensuring sound intelligence. I am proud to have them on our team."

In addition to meeting with U.S. Africa Command personnel, the command team took the opportunity to recognize select key personnel and frock the Joint Intelligence Command commander, Lt. Col. Tammy Fearnow, to the rank of colonel.

U.S. Africa Command's directorate for intelligence administers all aspects of defense intelligence to combat international threats, as well as to protect U.S. personnel and facilities, prevent and mitigate conflict, and build defense capabilities to promote regional stability and prosperity.

"I am once again honored to congratulate these hard-working troops and civilians for their dedication on behalf of Gen. Langley," said Thresher. "Our team at J2 Molesworth provides critical intelligence that helps the combatant commander make decisions. They are invaluable to our success."
